CICATS provides the academic home for the Journal of Racial and Ethnic Health Disparities (JREHD). CICATS CEO, Dr. Cato T. Laurencin, serves as Editor-in-Chief. The journal, published by Springer, is the first of its kind and it is the official journal of the W. Montague Cobb/NMA Health Institute, whose mission is to eliminate racial and ethnic health disparities.
In early 2017, the JREHD was moved from quarterly publication to bimonthly, since its official launch in July 2013. During the year the JREHD received over 700 submissions and over 400 high quality papers were accepted for publication. The total number of full-text PDF downloads (electronic usage) from SpringerLink of the JREHD in 2017 was 63,736.
